For years the famous beep to let you know your food is warmed thoroughly is from a product from the culinary industry that we all know and love, the microwave. Invented about almost 70 years ago by an engineer named Percy Spencer, he describes it as an "accident" while testing a piece of military equipment when he realized that it had melted his snack. Unsure of why his snack had melted, Perry tested it again, placing an egg underneath the tube of the equipment. The egg had come in direct contact with the heat while exploring and covering the entire thing in eggshells and yolks. A famous snack that we also know and love was also founded, as Percy also decided to test a pack of kernels to see what it would do, and as a result turned out to be the single most popular snack at the movie theatres, popcorn.

The microwave is something every family in the world should own in their kitchen as it is a fast and reliable product to efficiently heat up food within seconds. In the culinary industry, I feel as if the microwave really determines the level of a great restaurant, to a not so great restaurant. In the kitchen, you wanna be able to provide your customers with food that is hot, and ready to go. While microwaves are great at home for just your average family, it does not live up to restaurant standards and should rarely be used.
